Draft of Aims and Intentions
I will be
producing ‘Glitch’, a programme to be broadcasted on ITV for a millennial audience
as a late night show. As a crime drama, it will follow some common stylistic
effect to appease to genre conventions, including; close-ups for tension and
expression and wide/long shots to present vulnerability. Shallow focus is a
technique used to draw attention to the characters, establishing a relationship
between the character and their surroundings. I intended on using jump cuts in
my editing process to exaggerated the heated, fast paced nature of the
conversation in scene 2.
My
production will appeal to a range of audiences; it is a representation of our
society of which the audience can relate. Both genders and a variety of races
and ethnicities will feature in the casting of my actors, I aim to represent as
many groups as I can. The focal point being on the theme of the show being on
technology rather than group representation, instead it is my vision of how our
society could potentially become. More specifically my production is split to represent
both the younger and older band of millennials in terms of technology, showing
both the reliance and doubt of technology. As there are only two main
characters, it will be difficult to produce equal representation of societal
relationships. The mother-son relationship will be represented in a reflection
to society, Jodie, the mother will compose an authoritative status, whilst
Theo, her son will be predominately act as topic manager, introducing
conversations.
For my
magazine, I want to create a bright and bold cover, one which will draw the
attention of potential readers. I aim to do this by using bright colours with a
minimalistic design. Inside the magazine, my double-paged spread with be
minimalistic, based on a white/grey background so it is easy on the eye, and
easy to read. My text will flow in columns, with a couple photos following this
organised pattern. The cover will include a quotation from my interview, to
link the two together and give the reader a taste of the article. In the
interview itself, I wanted the readers to gain a perspective of how the industry
works for the experienced and the new, discussing the emotional side as well as
technical side of filming. This will help establish a relationship between the interviewees
and the audience, making the read flow easier. The interview will also cover the niche market
in which the genre targets, and how everyday life influenced my idea.
