My name is Saskia Malhotra, I am 17 years old and am attending Hills Road Sixth Form College in Cambridge where I am studying Media, English Combined and Psychology. This blog is for my A-Level Media coursework. The task we have been set is to create an audio-visual sequence from a television programme and associated print materials to promote the same programme. Deeper Research: GQ Magazine

To begin my research into lifestyle magazines, I looked at the October 2018 edition of GQ (Gentleman's Quarterly), a high-end magazine created for male audience discussing the latest fashion trends and covering cultural news on the latest books, films, TV, art and comedy. The magazine costs £3.99 and consists of 260 pages which are divided into a number of sections. Although the magazine is aimed towards a male audience, a  woman's  section is also featured on the magazines website and occasionally the magazine itself, covering two topics; sex and relationships, and woman of the week.  GQ's Men of the Year awards are a major feature of the magazine, they state: "Returning for its 21st year, the GQ Men Of The Year Awards 2018 will honour the men and women who shape the world's cultural landscapes in style, politics, entertainment and sport. Title: Glitch Log-line: In a world where surveillance is everywhere, this flawless system has been broken. Defeating the impossible a girl goes missing. Mother, Jodie, begins to question society’s ways, wondering if her daughter has been taken, or if there has been a glitch in the system. Audience: 18 – 25-year-old millennials, male or female, BC1C2 USP: Genre hybridity and being really futuristic; set in a dystopian society, it is an insight into the effects of extreme technological control abused by authorities, and how a faultless system can have its flaws. Genre: Futuristic crime drama Convergence:  Feature article on the script writer, accompanied by lead actress. Interview with the director/screen writer about the world we have been introduced to, and an insight into the characters themselves.
